Pre-Installation Survey Guide
To ensure a smooth and efficient EV charger installation and to provide a quotation, we require a pre-installation survey. This helps us identify any potential challenges and schedule enough time to complete your installation without delays. Please send the below information to us via Whatsapp or email.
What We Need From You
To complete your self-survey, please send us the following:
- A clear photo of the front of your property, including your driveway
- A photo of your electricity meter and the area surrounding it
- A photo of your consumer unit (fuse box)
- A photo of your indoor water stop valve (also known as the stop cock)
- A photo showing the bonding connection at your gas meter
- Photos showing the proposed cable route from your meter to the intended charger location
- Your MPAN (Meter Point Administration Number)
Once we review and approve your submissions, we will send you a quotation for the installtion. If any of the photos are unclear or missing key details, we may ask you to re-upload them.
Taking the Right Photos
Front of House and Parking
We need a full view of the front of your home and your off-street parking space. This helps us check for possible obstructions, such as footpaths between your house and parking.
Do: Include the entire driveway and the building façade.
Don’t: Submit partial or obstructed views that hide key areas.
Electricity Meter
We’ll need to inspect your meter setup, including the presence of an isolator switch.
Do: Open the meter cabinet and show all cables and connections.
Don’t: Include clutter or photos where the meter components are hidden.
Consumer Unit
We use this photo to assess the condition of your consumer unit.
Do: Open the inspection panel to show the switches inside.
Don’t: Leave the cover closed or block the view with other items.
Water Stop Valve and Gas Bonding
To meet current safety standards, we need to see how your water and gas systems are earthed.
Do: Show green/yellow bonding cables on metal pipework or confirm plastic pipes are used.
Don’t: Submit unclear or cluttered images.
Not sure what to look for? No problem — send us what you have and we’ll review it. If upgrades are necessary, we’ll let you know.
Cable Route
Show us where you’d like the charger installed and how you envision the cable running from the meter. Take multiple images for clarity.
Tip: The more detail, the better!
Finding Your MPAN
Your MPAN is a 13-digit number that identifies your electricity supply. You can find it:
- On your electricity bill
- By contacting your electricity supplier
- Through your local electricity distributor
It might be called your “Supply Number” — just look for a 13-digit code like this example:
Example MPAN: 01 234 567 891 234
If you don’t have your bill, contact your supplier directly. Not sure who your supplier is? Use the Energy Networks Association’s postcode lookup tool to find out.
